PRODUCT INFORMATION

Now available to purchase as single pipettes
Same day dispatch available
Prazemo orders placed before 3:00pm are now available for same day dispatch, subject to a valid prescription being received and stock availability. Saturday cut-off is 11:00am.

Prazemo is a prescription-only spot-on treatment for cats containing emodepside and praziquantel. Vetalia can supply Prazemo as individual pipettes or in larger quantities, depending on the prescription. It provides broad-spectrum treatment against roundworms, tapeworms and lungworm.

Prazemo may be prescribed where treatment of multiple intestinal worms or lungworm is required. A single topical dose is used for many roundworm and tapeworm infections, while repeat treatment may be required for lungworm depending on the veterinary surgeon’s instructions.

As a spot-on formulation, Prazemo is applied directly to the skin at the base of the neck and may be useful where oral administration is difficult.

Product Information

Active ingredients: Emodepside, Praziquantel
Pharmaceutical form: Spot-on solution
Target species: Cats
Legal category: POM-V (prescription required)

Available strengths

Small cats (0.5–2.5kg) — 30mg / 7.5mg
Medium cats (2.5–5kg) — 60mg / 15mg
Large cats (>5kg) — 96mg / 24mg

Dosing and Administration

Prazemo is applied topically to the skin at the base of the skull.

In cats that hunt or are regularly exposed to prey, routine worming may be recommended depending on the individual cat’s risk factors and lifestyle. Your veterinary surgeon will advise on the most appropriate treatment schedule.

Minimum dose:

Praziquantel: 12mg/kg
Emodepside: 3mg/kg

A single application is typically used for roundworm and tapeworm infections.

Lungworm infections may require two treatments, two weeks apart, depending on the veterinary prescription and clinical circumstances.

The coat should be parted and the full contents of the pipette applied directly onto the skin to ensure correct administration.

Safety Information

Prazemo should only be used under veterinary supervision and supplied against a valid veterinary prescription.

  • Do not apply to broken skin
  • Prevent licking of the application site while wet
  • Avoid bathing immediately after treatment

Transient salivation or mild neurological signs may occur if the product is ingested during grooming. Owners should refer to the product information and contact their veterinary surgeon if they have concerns following administration.
